I had someone recently ask me if I usually go with my first design. While I cannot answer for everyone, I tend to make multiple design rendition. Just the curiosity of what would happen, If i try this, add that, change the position of those… keeps me creating different designs for an space, which ends in many not making the cut, when it comes down to the finality of things.
Another factor that affects which design makes the cut is the Clients need and style. Which can lead to revisions. Sometimes what a client wants in terms of style might be conflicting with other things on the clients important list. I tend to create the design as my client desired and create a different version to have a clear visual comparison to them. Hence again why some does not make the cut.
