We all know the usual colors for someone in a professional setting. Grays, Navy Blues, Blacks, Browns, whites, beige… Basically All the colors that make you blend in.
Now, i have ABSOLUTELY nothing against this set standards of what a professional should look like and what colors makes one dependable. But if you are like me, or if you have a rebellious streak in you, and have no wish to flag convention but just has a wish of being creatively distinguishable and yet professional. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
I believe in breaking outside the box of what DEPENDABLE and TRUSTWORTHY looks like. Personally, i like color combinations that screams confident, capable, individualistic and DEPENDABLE…
As much as many people keep denying this fact: I with many others on the other side believe that an individuals dressing can make a difference in the work place.
Now, i am not asking anyone to wear a booty short or a crutch skirt and short in unflattering colors to work. Just the right amount of length and color will be perfect. You don’t have to scream “LOOK AT ME”…. You want you dressing to say ” I know what i am doing, so i am not afraid to stand out”
Whether you are working in a creative environment, a stiflingly professional environment or anywhere else… A little color done the right way goes a long way.
I AM DOING A WEEKS LOOKBOOK… So, daily until the end of the week, i will be uploading pictures of the professional combination of colors.
LOOK 1
Black on Black is a classic combination. Black pants and Black silk tank top.
ADD COLOR
- A solid colorful purse/Bag can make all the difference when paired with a full black outfit.
- A dusty colored heels in the same family with the purse but different shades puts it together. (For comfort, buy SQUARE HEELS)
- For that ultimate professional look to tie everything together add a White or Ivory blazer. ..Even better if it has a little pop of color in the collar, lapel or sleeve or even pocket area. (What is important is that there is a little color). In my case i chose an Ivory blazer with a little orange in the lapel and collar. Orange is not the same as the light pink of the shoes or the dark pink of the purse, but put together they look to be in the same color family
